Roger Miller started his career in the Exxon Polymers division supporting process operations, then in operations supervision over grease batch manufacturing, on to field lube engineer supporting field sales, rotating to a project engineer constructing bulk storage assets, promoted to a global position as a grease technical expert in rotating equipment, finishing his career as a circuit process engineer supporting the Americas zone batch and continuous grease manufacturing. Roger was active in the NLGI as an instructor, recognized with an award for teaching excellence. Co-author with other industry experts on grease applications in industry.
Currently, he serves as President/Manager of a startup company, SenseTech, LLC, in coordination with LSU Engineering. We have tested, on a commercial basis, a patented manufacturing sensor leveraging thermodynamics to characterize the rheology of non-Newtonian products during manufacture. SenseTech was formed to commercially launch the sensor.

Brianna Bailey

Brianna graduated from Fransiscan Missionaries of Our Lady University with a Degree in Business Management and a minor in Health Administration. She currently works at Istrouma Baptist Church as the Communications Associate and runs her own business, Forever Florals. With a passion for building meaningful connections, Brianna focuses on using strategic marketing to engage audiences, strengthen relationships, and communicate the value of SenseTech’s mission and solutions.
Currently, she serves as Director of Marketing and Sales for SenseTech, where she leads the company’s marketing strategy, customer engagement, and sales initiatives. She is focused on communicating the value of SenseTech’s innovative technology, strengthening relationships with customers and partners, and supporting the company’s mission to advance manufacturing through real-time process intelligence.

Sensetech also works with independent research partners, including CeRoM (Center for Rotating Machinery) at LSU Mechanical Engineering, led by Dr. Michael Khonsari.
CeRoM provides independent research focused on solving long-standing industry challenges. Dr. Lijesh applies fundamental principles such as entropy and thermodynamics to develop new approaches to these problems.
Sensetech partners with CeRoM through LSU by licensing access to patents originating from its research. TRACE is one example of this successful collaboration, connecting independent research with practical industry solutions.

Michael Khonsari
Research Partner
Michael Khonsari earned his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. He is a Boyd Professor and holds the Dow Chemical Endowed Chair in Mechanical Engineering at Louisiana State University. Professor Khonsari has authored 3 technical books in tribology, fatigue, and rotor dynamics, and over 500 archival papers, including book chapters and special publications. He is the recipient of several research awards, including the ASME Honorary, Mayo Hersey, Burt Newkirk, and the STLE International Award for his contributions to tribology. He is the director of NSF Center for Innovations in Structural Integrity Assurance (CISIA), a university-industry-government cooperative center. Professor Khonsari is a fellow of ASME, the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE), the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), and the National Academy of Inventors (NAI).

Dr. Koottaparambil
Research Partner
Dr. Lijesh Koottaparambil is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Louisiana State University, USA. His research focuses on tribology, irreversible thermodynamics, material degradation, condition monitoring, and entropy-based approaches for predicting wear, fatigue, corrosion, coating degradation, and energy-storage system health. He earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Delhi in 2015, receiving the Best Research Thesis Award, and was selected for the prestigious Indo-US Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2018. Dr. Koottaparambil has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications with over 1,500 citations and has published in leading journals. He is also an inventor on six U.S. and two international patents related to condition monitoring, degradation assessment, and energy-storage diagnostics. He serves as an Associate Editor of the Journal of Tribology (ASME), academic editor for Frontiers in Mechanical Engineering (Tribology) and Advances in Tribology, and a Senior Editor of a CRC Press book series on applied tribology. His research aims to develop physics-based and thermodynamically consistent methods for predicting and mitigating degradation in engineering systems.
